Applications for the potentially explosive atmospheres sector.

Air handling

A potentially explosive atmosphere may be generated in systems where there are inflammable substances (gases, vapours, dust or mist) along with potential ignition sources that could trigger a fire and then rapid combustion (explosion).

The reference EU Directive indicating intervention areas, certification and necessary product tests is 2014/34/EU. It defines two product groups.

Group I: products for the mining sector (risk of firedamp or explosive dust).

Group II : products destined for use in places where an explosive atmosphere may form. For Group II, there are three categories:

Category 1: product with very high protection. Use in areas where the constant formation of an explosive atmosphere is highly likely.

Category 2: product with high protection. Use in areas where the formation of an explosive atmosphere is likely.

Category 3: product with normal protection.
Use in areas where the formation of an explosive atmosphere is unlikely.

FAST specialised support provides units designed in accordance with the specialist engineer and fitted with certified ATEX components such as fans, motors, etc. (on the basis of the characteristics of the atmosphere declared at the time of the cost estimate).

Because we care for air.
